Li-- I had been so impressed, until I found this "North meets South" story. I was struck when I noticed phrases like "Europe is Ethnic" and "Pattern is Primitive". Isn't this kind of phrasing offensive to you? Haven't you created, AGAIN, this notion of the primitive yet noble muse? Too bad. I just feel like this is the type of messaging that keeps "Africa" (nevermind it is an entire CONTINENT) firmly lodged in the collective imagination as some unlimited mystical space for otherness, and little more. I welcome your comments if I am misunderstanding. This is important to me.
